The Name: Steinway
Last week a client walked into our Steinway showroom on Stirling Highway, Nedlands and confessed that he had driven past the showroom many times, but had never stopped, feeling too intimidated to even enter the “Hall of Steinway”.
We all know that the name Steinway is associated with high standards and professional piano performance levels. The downside of being the benchmark for ultimate quality is that people tend to think of owning a Steinway as an impossible dream. We have numerous professional customers who enjoy playing the piano, but who seem to have a mental barrier that stops them owning the best. They apologize even to themselves, thinking “I don’t play well enough – I don’t deserve that kind of quality”. As they become successful in their professional life, they appreciate the value of rewards and recognition. Recognising that they deserve it, for many of them, owning a Steinway becomes the fulfilment of a life-long dream.
Some piano teachers tend to steer their younger piano pupils students away from a Steinway because they have not yet reached a “certain standard”. Yet a fundamental role of both the parents and teachers is encouraging the young aspiring pianist as much as possible. Students, particularly young people, enjoy the learning process much more if they learn on “quality instruments”. Their efforts are immediately rewarded, and they achieve their goals faster.
We believe that everyone with an interest in playing the piano, whatever their level, be it beginner, pupil, or amateur, should experience playing a Steinway in their life time! Many parents do not have the financial means to buy a Steinway when their children begin taking piano lessons. For the entry level, our Boston and Essex pianos are an ideal solution, as both incorporate Steinway design features and patents and are the best instruments in their price categories in terms of quality.
Why not drop in and see the Boston and Essex pianos at our “Hall of Steinway” the next time you are passing by?
